One of the best games on Xbox 360 pure action, great graphics. Highly recommend if you enjoy shooters. Hope they release 3 on Xbox One.
I am an avid gamer and I enjoyed the first L4D (left for dead.) so much so I went out and got L4D2 (left for dead 2.) I am kind of disappointed with the lack of story line with this one. The characters are ok, but I feel like there should be different options for woman and girls who play. I don’t think its fare to have only one female character to choose from in both of the games. The zombies are what this game is all about though. If you like to slash, shoot, or punch your way through a horde of zombies from all around the swamps. Then this game is perfect for you. It seems like the writers spent a lot of time on the zombies. You now can kill clowns, carnival people, and all shapes and sized “people”. It is so much fun honking the nose of VERY creepy clown zombies. If you are NOT a team player and you DON’T like Xbox live. Please PLEASE don’t get this game! It’s not worth it.
When I jumped on this it was on sale for super cheap. The first Left 4 Dead had just come out and before I had my fill of fun playing that game this game showed up the following year. And I almost passed on it because why would I pay for something that could have easily just been DLC?Well I did pay for the game because it was CHEAP! And I dug on it .. but having it released so close to the first I was burnt out on zombie killing action and shelved it.Months later DLC for the game appeared that combined the original Left 4 Dead cast with the Left 4 Dead 2 cast and combined both of their stories. The gameplay mechanics happen to be the stuff dreams are made of and put you in control way more effectively than say .. hm I dunno –Resident Evil’s clunky tank controls (that’s for another review).More involved story and events in game are just as intense as before with a new goon squad of super zombies to really toy with your emotions in a firefight. Perfect for 2-player co-op scenarios and if you really dig on zombie games and just zombie action stories you cannot lose with the Left 4 Dead series (1 or 2).
My children (boy and girl) love these . Every single one we have is amazing and bring to life for a child to play with. Thank you , I don’t have to hang out at the construction sites as long!
I buy games to play 2 player coop, so that it the most important aspect of a game for me. The first Left4Dead is on of the best coop games I’ve played. Great story line, great action and coop is well programmed. The second has a lot of the same great features as the first. When you die, your partner can continue on and will eventually find you at a checkpoint in a closet or room. There are two other characters that can fight and heal you (you can also heal them to keep them around). If they die, you can sometimes find them in a closet further on, but it’s often hard to make it very far without some backup. There is a lot of strategy involved in the games, many levels cannot be done hack and slash style. You’ve got to figure out good vantage points and sequence of events to get you through the level. Zombies are fairly random, so it changes it up a bit each time you go through. What kept Left4Dead 2 from being a 5 star is that for 2 player coop, you get several "mini stories" that you can drop into at any chapter and it doesn’t save your progress from level to level. Still an enjoyable game though.
I rated this 4 stars because the product is perfect with no problems. However, the game itself I’d say buy first one and leave it at that. This game would be beneficial for a user looking for more maps to shoot through. Always fun for a late night with some friends though.
