The army, called the “Repliforce”, is a strict military regime led by the giant Reploid named General and his second-in-command, Colonel. Battle armies of Maverick Reploid Robots while mastering all-new strategic moves like the Air Hover and Zero’s Saber Tactic system. Discover a myriad of power-ups, secret rooms, extra weapons and invincible vehicles to take on 8 all new X-Hunter Bosses. Experience two different story lines and characters with their own sidekicks. If you play as X, your experience will be very similar to the other MEGA MAN X games, while if you choose Zero, the story is pretty much the same, but you have to change your approach in battles and traversing the terrain. Great, challenging action game. Voice acting so cheesy and bad you can’t help but love it.
First of all, this game has much better graphics than the previous X games. This game is high in difficulty. This game is a keeper to any mega man fan. You should play this game if you want a big challenge. I would say this is the hardest X game so far,so if your a beginner,I don’t recommend it at all.
By FAR my favorite MMX title (MMX is my second) this was the MMX title I unlocked everything in (23 yrs ago) and actually started speed running it about 5 yrs ago! Nothing but amazing things to say about this game and memories!
We got this game when my dad bought us the PS1 for Christmas when the system first came out.Not being familiar with the Mega Man series I was a little eeeehhhh about playing it, but after watching my big brother who was a little familiar with Mega Man play it I decided to try my hand at it.I love how both Mega Man and Zero (which was my character of choice) had their own story-lines. And I loved how they would throw Animation clips within the game which was a refreshing seeing how most video games back then andnow you have to read & click to read the rest of the dialogue. I like how as you got higher into the game the stages actually got harder.Great game and I got addicted to it lol
Growing up, I played this game too much. I always play as Zero, mainly because when I play as X, I use his super suit and it’s no fun. But I got this game and played over night and got to Sigma in 6 hours. And I haven’t played this game in 9 years.
Works flawlessly
Many people are tired of Mega Man and his dozens of games, but those people are also missing out on a great gaming experience. This is one of his best and it would be a shame to pass up. Sure the gameplay is basically the same as before, but what’s wrong with that? The graphics and sound are still great and the story is more serious than other games in the series. Don’t miss out on this.
Mega Man X4 is the second best game in the X series.Pros:-2 different scenarios: play as X and receive various arm-shot weapons, or play as Zero and learn various sword techniques.-Beautiful 2D graphics.-New parts system.-Bosses are new in style.-Beautifully animated anime cutscenes.-Cool new characters.Cons:-A little easy sometimes.-HORRIBLE voice acting! The bottom line: this is a very fun game to play, but there is one thing you might want to hear: Zero is not for beginners. His moves are much harder to learn. However, masters should challenge themselves playing it with Zero. If you enjoyed the first three (X3 is the best), then I highly recommend this.
It took some arm-twisting, but Sony finally caved when Capcom demanded it release the next chapter of the X series on their instant-success PS1. So, with that in mind, did Capcom have what it took to bring this franchise back to life in the 32-bit world? The answer is a resounding YES! X4 kept to its 2D platforming roots and not succumbing to the increasingly 3-dimensional nonsense that was the name of the game near the end of the 20th century, and instead used the added bits to paint a vivid and visually amazing canvas in its awesome level structures, graphic effects, and huge, powerful bosses. Add on the ability to play as Zero in all his saber-swinging glory full time, a tragic story line that divides itself depending on who you’re playing as, a few new hidden items to find, some of X’s best weapons and Capsule effects, and four, count’em, FOUR different Sigma forms and you have one of the best X games made. It would’ve been even better if Capcom was a better judge of character when getting the voice actors for the anime cut-scenes (though as I said, Ruth Shiraishi was better as X than Mega Man in MM8), but I guess beggars can’t be choosers…
Mega Man X was a great series on the Super Nintendo and it continues on the Playstation. In these side scrolling games, you control a humanoid robot known as X. Although based loosely on the original Mega Man series from the days of the NES, the story of X takes place in something of an alternate universe. Both X and his comrade Zero are Maverick Hunters. Their objective is to destroy aberrant robots, known as Mavericks. The Mavericks are led by Sigma, who is the personification of a computer virus. The X series is often considered to be darker and more sophisticated looking than the original series. In this particular game, you can choose to be either X or Zero. X controls much like the original Mega Man did. He can walk, jump, and shoot his Buster cannon. He can also cling to walls, something exclusive to the X series. Zero, on the other hand, controls in fundamentally the same way, but his weapons are different. Zero has no long range attacks, only a lightsabre type of sword. It’s arguably harder to go through the game using Zero.As per the usual Mega Man routine, you are pitted against eight bosses. They are Web Spider, Split Mushroom, Cyber Peacock, Storm Owl, Magma Dragoon, Frost Walrus, Jet Stingray, and Slash Beast. You get to pick who you want to fight first. After going through their respective levels (typically based around themes like snow, fire, and so forth), you fight the Mavericks themselves. Upon defeating them, you get to take their weapon tha.
