Subtitles, graphics, and the live footage is amazing, the planes are so realistic looking. Would highly recomend this game to anyone.
Let me start of by saying this is a very good aerial combat game which is staged in the WWII era. I’ll list all the major things…Combat: It’s very good, the bullets show real physics, the planes also do, one thing that intrigued me was if you come fairly close to a enemy plane and shoot it down the smoke trail that is streaming behind it which contains all that oil and gunk gets on your canopy–blocking your view for a few moments, it’s awesome! It’s also very intense when your getting shot up all the time! As you get shot up your planes wings and body gets bullet holes in them, you windshield can also get bullet holes in it, which is just very realistic, the only thing which concerns me is the controls, it takes a bit of practice to get the hang of them but nothing major.Planes: The planes are incredible!!! There’s huge amount of detail, from the paint and the design, to the wonderful cockpits! Everyone of them has there own feel to it as you fly, some are slow and bulky others are fast and maneuverable and some are just in between. There are about 40 planes altogether, which includes basically every plane that fought over Europe. Though they can be more. The only thing I’m concerned here is there are no cockpit views for any of the Axis powers planes, and there are cockpit views for almost all the Allied planes, I don’t know what’s up with that but they should have really put in cockpit views for the Axis planes as well, it’s just not right!(Tip: not all planes are won i.
This is the first flight sim I’ve bought in many many years. Graphics are great and I’m playing in arcade mode rather than full sim. 7 year old son also seems to be able to enjoy it. Will be many months before completion I guess.
The best video war game I’ve ever played. Better than Modern Warfare series. If you like war games, buy this one.
This is the best combat air flight simulation game in the market today. It is a simulation, but it does not prevent you from playing it right away. It`s got very realistic graphics (make sure you`ve got a full HDTV to view it properly)The gameplay and mechanics are very well thought and make you feel inside a WWII combat plane. The maps are huge and very well rendered (based on hundreds of real photos from the real locations depicted in the game)There are more than 50 missions including all modes in the game. The damaging sistem is amazing you know when you got hit badly and you can view all the bullet holes in your aircraft.I’ve been playing this game for over 100 hours and haven`t stopped yet.Buy it!Just make sure when you get home to download the patch and enjoy it!
I got this game as a gift for my boyfriend. He really seems to like it and plays it quite often. He also plays it online with his friend I think. I’m not too playstation savy, but he seems to think it plays well and has good graphics.
A Review by Sam Bushman and Dan Morrison**Read the full review (including screenshots and our conclusions) at Flight simulators have been around on the PC platform for many years. Many of them have met with strong commercial success and have led to strong franchise followings. Developer 1C company intends to bring much of the same experiences PC gamers have enjoyed from the IL2 franchise to the home console with IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. IL2 places the player in the cockpit of several World War II-era war planes spanning several missions. These missions span the history of the European front of World War II. Tasks performed on each of these missions include escorting bombers, dog fighting with enemy fighter planes, bombing ground targets such as tanks, gunners, and bunkers; and even landing your aircraft. The player can tackle each of these tasks from a variety of camera view points including a first-person “in the cockpit” view and a third-person “behind the plane” view. Players can also take flight in a variety of online multiplayer matches ranging from “Team Battle” to “Strike” where teams attempt to bomb an opposing team’s ground target. With a variety of difficulties and multiplayer options, 1C Company hope to also bring in some fresh blood to the flight simulation genre.LikesDan: The graphics in this game look fairly good. The attention to detail on the planes is amazing. The planes looked very believable. The details like the flaps, the landing gear.
The only thing I find wrong with this game is that is (rarely though) freezes up for half a second while playing. Other than that this game is by far the best air combat game I own and I own four others for my PSP. This one is obviously more realistic graphically but compared to my other games there has been a lot of effort put in to make this game realistic in terms of the looks of the planes, environment, and the physics involved with shooting the guns, rockets, or bombs. Also there are options to either play this game like a game with easy maneuverability but there is also options to play with realistic controls and reactions and also a mode to play without any unrealistic help from the game; you fly like you actually would at the time, relying on your eyes only. There is a campaign mode which is very fun and single mission; some of these can be a bit hard but if you play enough times (and issue commands to your group constantly!!!) you can get through them. There is also a training mode which is pretty awesome. You can chose the slightest details under which you fight it (i.e time, weather, altitude, location, planes, etc). The one thing that made the training mode a disappointment is that you can fight up to sixteen enemies BUT only on your own. There are no friendlies in training except for ground artillery.
Great product, excellent game, hard and challenging all the way, recommended for experience air fighting video pilots, the different levels of pilotting will be very exiting, very goof graphics and details
Great game if you like planes.
