Only two players – not quite family game night as we have to take turns in pairs when it would be so much fun to play the four of us together.
A waste of money. My fiancĆĀ© bought this because we just got a Kinect, and we loved the first family game night. This game is trash. Every game plays the same way, with a pushing motion. That’s fine for a game like sorry sliders, but for bowling? Basketball? It’s just the same mechanic with a different face. It was clearly a rushed and poorly made game, meant to sell to fans of previous fgn games that have a kinect, like us. Dont get suckered. This game could have been a real winner, but it’s a loser through and through. If you have young kids and can get this game for, say, $10, I’d give it a maybe. Otherwise, there is much better for the Kinect.
Thanks Again. Love it..
I rented this and do not plan on buying it. The kinect kept jumping from screen to screen. Trying to select pins in Yahtzee was difficult and the guide kept popping out on the right side of the screen making selection difficult. The scrabble game got boring real fast after just one round. Our letters were A N S W Y, there are only so many words that can be made from those letters. The manuevering of the letters is difficult and timed. It goes back and forth even though all possible words have been played. We didn’t even wait for the end of the round. Two players is difficult because one slight move and the kinect sensor changes the screen. Ughhh.. it was so frustrating. It kept jumping back to the profile login screen in the middle of the game. Do not buy it. Rent it for a night, because that’s all you’ll want to play it.
As soon as I saw Family Game Night was on the Kinect, I had to get it. I love games on the Kinect and thought this would be the perfect game for the Kinect. The Family Game Night 4 game is fun but can get very boring very quickly. The games include Sorry Sliders, Connect4 Basketball, BopIt, Bowling Yahtzee, and Scrabble Flash. The Sorry Sliders game is one of the most disappointing games since the announcer dude says the same thing everytime and thats get very old very quickly. The BopIt game would be awesome but when you play alone they put someone with you and if they make a mistake the game is over. They make a mistake very early in the game everytime. The Connect4 Basketball game is very fun, and had me saying some bad words since the computer kept beating me. I have finally caught on to the game and can beat the computer very easily now. I am hoping they update the game in the near future with some more levels and allow to you choose the strength of the computer, and some more options for the games. Scrabble flash really makes you think and is fun.
My kids enjoy playing this game. They must interact with the game instead of just sitting down pushing pieces. I highly recommend this game to others.
My son loves to play this with his dad.
cause its slow boring and makes no sense kids hated so did i can we return it to get a different 1
LOVE IT PARTY WITH GUESTS
I had high expectations for this game and I bought it when it first came out, without finding any reviews on the web. Wish I would have waited. It was a waste of $40. The controls are horrible for the most part. In Sorry Sliders, you have to push a game piece onto a target, kind of like shuffle board. We either pushed too soft so the game piece never made it to the target or we pushed too hard and it overshot. It was hard trying to figure out the movements for each game as well, you don’t get a tutorial, you are just dumped into the game. The Connect 4 was probably the best game as targeting the hole you wanted was not too bad. The scrabble game was hard because you had very little time to grab your letters and move them where they needed to go, it was very frustrating. The bop it game was hard to figure out the moves required. The bowling game was the worst. You don’t throw the ball down the lane like in Kinect Sports, you push it down the lane, very lame and the movement for trying to decide if you want to keep a dice or reroll was VERY difficult to do and caused major frustration. It was horribly implemented. I’m going to take it to Gamestop this weekend and I hope I can get at least half my money back in credit. I do not recommend this game at all.
