In most cases, you might state like Saints Row (4) that despite several new additions, the sequel should have been released as a downloadable release for an even cheaper price. Left 4 Dead 2 is the exception. Although similar to the original, the sequel is much of a new game of its own, in my opinion still living up to today’s graphical capabilities and performance. Teamwork isn’t often key in a multiplayer game, generally leaving that to the co-op genre and making everything fast paced. Regardless of verses, single player, mutation, survival or scavenge, every game mode has teamwork regardless of AI, human or infected interaction.Regardless of difficulty, you will find yourself back at the starting safe room even on easy difficulty if you’re not acting just as you would on a higher difficulty. With iteration of the past campaigns into Left 4 Dead 2, I found it surprisingly easier to beat some of the campaigns on expert. I will always prefer the old characters over the new, but the point of the sequel is the new guns, the amount of zombies, special infected and new game modes.Hilarious, scary and bloody fun are the greatest ways to describe this game. If you are speedrunning a campaign you will likely see a decrease in infected if you keep moving, but the point of the game is to take your time and roleplay as if it were a real apocalypse. I simply cannot wait for the sequel.
This game is just great, reason i didnt give it 5 stars i feel the graphics could have been worked on a little more also there is no story mode that really sucks. You really get into the game once your playing it. its intense and very fast paced so be prepared! the whitch even though we know she is there i still manage to get spooked every time i hear her cry in the distance, and it never fails to raise the hair on my arms and the back of my neck when she runs after me! Great game highly recommended especially with friends online. with that saidWATCH YOUR BACK!
I originally bought this game for myself but my 4yr old son took it over(he is obsessed with zombies). He knows this game inside and out. 2 people can play offline, with xbox live I’m pretty more can play. I dont have xbox live accounts for everyone so only 2 can play through my xbox live(I sign in with my account and other player has to sign in as guest). Having xbox live gold there are some extras you get. I recently noticed there are some other scenarios I can download. They look fun, just haven’t bought any of them. Sadly, he knows the game so well he has gotten bored with it. My son just asked for the first left 4 dead as a birthday gift and I hope he loves it just as much as this one.
This game is a refreshing update from the last L4D. Plenty of menu options and mayhem to deal out. The manual is not very forthcoming with information relating to the different menu options. The one-liners are good but a little change-up would be better. The game has lots of action, the story has more depth and can be a lot of fun with some of your budds. Blunt force trauma, sharp force trauma or just plain trauma. It’s your choice, let her rip. Don’t forget to try the frying pan or the chainsaw. The frame rate is spot on and the overall look of the game is very polished. If you are unsure, rent it first, I believe this game has plenty of replay value. Let’s start the massacre.
I always thought the first L4D was huge on fun factor.Playing a character in a B-grade zombie movie alongside three of your friends is a great concept. This game and its predecessor have a lot of laugh-out-loud moments… It’s all very silly.Great game.Four stars out of five, because even though I tried to believe Valve that this was truly a standalone game worthy of full price, one still can’t help but feel like “hmm… this really should have been an add-on DLC for the original L4D). It’s definitely worth buying, but slightly feels like a ripoff at the same time, somehow. Blame EA I’d imagine. Sad that gaming has become so subject to greed.
Valve’s hit, Left 4 Dead, first hit shelves in 2008, and despite a few flaws, it was still a great game that could be replayed over and over with friends. Well, Valve heard us and created Left 4 Dead 2, which stars an all new crew going through the American South. Featuring Ellis, Nick, Rochelle, and Coach, the gang feels much more like human beings from before the apocalypse, compared to L4D1’s characters who seemed to be born to murder the living dead.New guns, sidearms, melee weapons (woo! chainsaw!), throwable bombs (who though of bottling puke, anyways?), enhancements, and new alternatives to the med-kits make L4D2 seem less like a giant expansion pack and more like a sequel. The levels are more complex, and less linear. Also new are the new "special infected", such as the Jockey who jumps on his victims and "rides" them to all kinds of hazards (fire, ledges, etc), and the Spitter who spits pools of acid toward the survivors. In addition, Valve has added a "scavenger" mode, where the survivors race around a small map to find gas cans and carry them back to the generator, while the special infected try to stop them.If you didn’t enjoy the first one, there’s nothing that will really change your mind here but if you were a fan of the first game, this is a MUST own.
First of all, if you’re dead set on buying this game, have both an Xbox and a Computer that exceeds the recommended system requirements, and don’t care for split-screen gaming then I would purchase the PC version instead. If all you have is an Xbox, then you will still enjoy this game.* Split-screenPros: 2 players on the same TV vs one player per computer.Cons: Performance takes a major hit and the game really gets choppy.* Ease of usePros: A controller feels more comfortable in the hands and is easier to just pick up and play.Cons: Though the controller is easier to use, the keyboard and mouse allow for better control* ContentPros: Same fun as L4D 1 with a few nice additions such as the Scavenge game mode(same for PC). It’s Easy to play with friends(same for PC).Cons: PC Community gets pretty much all the same but also better mods and more contentHere are some numbers for people who like those.Gameplay/Fun: 8/10 (Still lots of fun even compared to a lot of newer titles)Graphics: 6/10 (A bit dated as it’s now 2012)Replay Value: 9/10 (Versus and Scavenge)
This game is fun for what it is. If you have not paid for this game yet get it on pc I swear you won’t be disappointed. The game is great don’t get me wrong but your options are so open with the mods that are available. My buddy and I beat it as batman and deadpool. The AI was the guy from dead space and Alice from wonderland was the female. And we has hd blood textures on. Like I said it’s fun but it’s better on pc. This copy was a gift is why I bought it. And yes a play console and pc so I can compare.
The second of this series…this to is a great game..I have one complaint and that is you have to purchase downloadable content. You do not get to play all the levels unless you buy them. I do not understand why Microsoft did this with this game. But that has been microsoft’s failures. They always desire to make the almighty dollar over and over on one product. So be prepared to purchase levels to complete this game. I understand the PC version is not that way….All the levels are there. Had I known this I would not have bought this game for the X Box. But still it is a great game to play….very enjoyable.
I’m a huge fan of Valve games but never tried the original Left 4 Dead game. I downloaded the demo on XBOX live and liked it so I bought the game. The game is a lot fun and I like the fact that there are a lot of game modes so you’re not just stuck playing story mode. The best feature of this game is the online co-op. It allows you to work towards beating the game but instead of computer AI, you’re actually playing with other people.I’ve played the game for a few hours now and the main thing that bothers me is that it seems that when you’re playing co-op online, not that many people try to revive you (although having a full team is critical to winning). That obviously has nothing to do with the product itself, which is why I didn’t let that affect the score. The two reasons I knocked off one star are: 1. The game gets very tough in some levels. There were levels that I just could not beat (on online co-op, so it wasn’t just me as a bad player). It got to the point where it feels like it’s impossible. 2. The second reason is due to the fact that there is no scope on any of the guns except for the sniper rifle. If not correct, then please feel free to let me know otherwise and I’ll update the review.
