This game brings back so many memories. I traded my friend Wild Arms for it and I think I made a good choice. G-Police was released for PS1 in 1997 so anyone buying it now is buying for nostalgic purposes just like me. I played this game constantly as a kid and finally beat it after like a year! Back then the graphics were awesome and the music and voice overs really put you in the game. I love futuristic, dystopian stuff so this was right up my alley.
Good graphics along with the action great game to play.
I bought this for 12.00 not even knowing what it was. This is such a cool game. I’m no gaming expert at all but I favor the PS1 games. Definitely a should if you dont already have it.
G Police was released in 1997 by Psygnosis, a company owned by Sony at the time. Psygnosis was responsible for many of the great games and also partly responsible for causing the first Sony PlayStation to be the first video game console to enter the mainstream. It made some of that console’s best and most remembered games including G Police, WipeOut XL (a.k.a. Wipeout 2097), Colony Wars, Destruction Derby, Formula 1, and Rollcage Stage 2, all of which were titles that would either start a series of sequels, or were sequels in an existing franchise. And, this company was one of the first to popularize sequel franchises in the video game medium. The great thing about a few of these titles were how complicated some of these games’ plot lines were. This is especially true for G Police. G Police is one-part game and one-part movie, and both parts have a lot of suspense. It spends over ten minutes in telling its Blade Runner-esque plot before the first mission starts. Not all of these games had plots with any depth, and the popularity of one of these games, Colony Wars, can mostly be attributed to its Star Wars clichés.Luckily, G Police is the opposite: it is an original story feeling like it’s right out of a detective story in the best noir film, and so it really applies that same genre of Blade Runner which is sometimes referred to as “future noir” or “gothic sci-fi.” The imagery of the game reminds me of “the steel-and-microchip jungle of 21st-century Los Angeles” that give.
One of the best games played. Old classic. Would recommend to anyone. Graphics and game play are very very good.
I played this a very long time ago on ps1. This game was ahead of its time… Very very very difficult. Awesome sound track aswell. It reminds me of Star gate star trek ish or being a pilot or rescue hero or something…or living under the dome.. The game should be remade to current day..Boy i remember a few difficult missions…game makes you panic and proceed cautiously..with the mix of music and race against timed missions i believe this game has like 35 missions.. and they were pretty severe.. all the people that have played this game will understand… Alot of concentration and coordination is required. " mission failed return to base" get use to hearing that with the cleanly orchestrated music music chord : o )
Great action plus great story line make an awesome game. G Police proves this formula is right. I bought G Police 2 before this one, and I have to say this one is harder than it’s sequel for which I had to give 4/5 stars. Some missions are rather frustrating, but overall it’s a great game.
