This is one of the finest PS1 titles to date. It is exactly what you think it is, Final Fantasy Tactics meets Robots. A Turn based tactical RPG at it’s best.Graphics and sound-Square is solid when it comes to graphics and sound. By 2012 standards, its a tad pixelated and choppy, sure. By 2001 standards, this was state of the art and the cut scenes look better than alot of what you see on Xbox 360 and PS3. The music was right on target.Story-The story takes place on earth but 100 years in the future. A future of walking tanks “wanzers” (silly name, right?). Also, most the super powers of the world have amalgumated into economic blocks. There is also built in internet thing in the game where you can find easter eggs and unlock the ultimate wanzer, make money, buy weapons and parts for your giant walking tanks, or just train and earn money on the simulator.Gameplay-Did you like Final Fantasy Tactics? Or anything with “Tactics” in the title? Chances are pretty good you will like this. You move your character in 4 directions across a big chess board gridded map that covers a variety of heights and terrain as well as destructable invironments (ie; trees, certain walls). You have a variety of weapons that include rifles, machine guns, flame throwers, missiles, shot guns, assorted melee combat weapons, grenade launchers and even the much loved Pulse Rifle beam weapon. You may target your enemies body, arms, legs, wheels and even pilot. When you have destroyed enough parts, your enemi.
Awesome game, amazing story, cool customization options. Get it. It’s so much fun! If you like robots, look no further.
Great game. Glad to find a used copy that plays so well
I’m about halfway through, meaning I’ve spent about 20 hrs so far, and I really must hand it to Square, this is a great game. The cinematic battles, the mech upgrades, and having money in the game, really make this challenging and fun. Any game that gives you the freedom to spend money and configure things is on the right track in my book.My only criticism would be that they are trying to be an RPG. Oh, and this isn’t an RPG in my book. They have some RPG trappings around, all around, in fact, all over the dang place. There’s a lot of talking heads talknig, and sometimes that seems to eat up your time when really, all I want to do is check the shop for new upgrades and then get out to mech killing.I with Agetec would make something like Armored Core Tactics or something. There should be more turn based combat games that aren’t in a fantasy setting.
After playing the greatest turn based strategy of all time (Final Fantasy Tactics), I was convinced that Squaresoft was the ultimate gaming company. Keeping the faith, I got this game, not knowing what to expect, and the rest is history (and so are the hundreds of enemies they pitched at me).In this game, you lead a character and his freinds through the 22nd century as you search for a mighty device called MIDAS, an energy creator that can be used for good, but is just too easy to turn into a bomb of mass destruction. As you go along, you fight evil from around the world, like the Japanese Defence Force (JDF), the United States Navy (USN), and even super-humans called "Imaginary Numbers" of the Chinese "Da Han Zhong" (DHZ). Combating them you are eventually pitted in almost 200 different battles, each with a different map and group of enemies. The battle system is the core, where you select methods of defending yourself from the enemies, and which people to choose with their specialities to blow the enemy away. A few times I got pitted against enemies I just couldn’t beat, but for the most part, it was very clean and rather simple (not like Final Fantasy Tactics, which was unbelievably hard). With the battles and the talking sequences, you have some decent graphics and music. While I’ll wait a while before I buy the soundtrack for this game, I will say that the music ranges from kinda weak techno to some awesome stuff. The graphics also could use a pol.
This game is great, yes it has two, count em two great plots with over 150 missions! It it great game! You go around the battle maps with giant mechs called wanzers. They have different weapons and you can make your own. There is also a huge internet and e-mail system which is very fun. But the game can get some what boring after a while. Buy this game, but buy Final Fantasy Tatics First!
Front mission three is a turned based battlefield rpg. the graphics are amazing considering there ps1 and the story is very deep with several twists and betrayals. The online section has some interesting qualities but I found the email system rather useless, if you read the text between battles anything you get off the “net” was just reapplying the same message. Though you can get a rather powerful wanzer late in the game through email and web addresses. I enjoyed this game, kinda a Xenogears meets Vandal hearts mix. I would highly reccomend this game to any rpg fan or those who are into giant missle firing robots. thanks.
The game got to me very fast in under 2 weeks in very good condition. I have played threw the game with no problems so far. All the movies work and so does the audio and game play. It is great to be able to play such an old PS one game with no problems.
I tell ya. I did’nt think square could get a meca tactics game right with the first two front missions but wow! this game is amazing.
I biught this game for my boyfriend, he enjoyed it very much. The game came within a few days and we are happy with the quality eventhough it was used. The only complaint is I can’t get my boyfriend off of it! ha ha!
