For anyone whose played any FIFA game in the past, you can expect this game to provide endless hours of intense fun and competition. There are a few changes, however…all for the best. The players have full 360 degree control, whereas in past FIFA games a player can only move up, down, left, right, and diagonally in each respective direction. The dribbling system for tricks has been improved and works great! My only flaw is it seems the computer rarely gets any foul called, yet when I’m playing, I get called on for many more things, even when I reach the ball first. Maybe they did it to speed up the game so it wouldn’t stop so often because of fouls, but it’s very one-sided, almost as if the refs were programmed to favor the CPU. That’s really the only flaw I have. The goalies are a lot smarter, the shooting is simple but not limited, and the pace of the game seems perfect to me. The graphics are really good, and the soundtrack is different but fits the game rather well (minus a few annoying tracks).Overall, I give this game a 9/10 simply because of the way the fouls are called to CLEARLY favor the CPU. there’s always room for improvement, but I like FIFA 10 much better than FIFA 09.
Good deal .
[Skip to * if you just want the bare bones review.]I have Fifa 09 for my PS3…I love it. It probably has worked more hours than any of my other games. But then I started seeing these ads on TV for Fifa 10 saying it was the best soccer game to date and showing all these cool video clips and making my Fifa 09 game look like Paper Boy for the Nintendo (awesome game by the way.) And I’m definitely not one of those people that has to have the newest game so the only solution was to turn off my TV so I wouldn’t be tempted. Well that worked for a few minutes. Fast forward to Thanksgiving Break and I found myself checking out some retrolio deals and I stumbled across Fifa 10 for $35…and I bought it.A week later I put the game into my PS3 and was almost instantly disappointed…it looked almost exactly the same as Fifa 09. Sure they changed the menu a little and what not, but it was then that I realized what could they have made better…I mean Fifa 09 is a crazy awesome game, what should I have expected?*But then I play a match and WOW, what an upgrade. Again, nothing dramatically different, but instead dramatically in tune: ball touch is better, pushing people off the ball is more realistic, free kicks are better, the commentators have more than 10 lines to say, more control over conditions, more control over ball curve, and I could go on. Nothing new, but everything’s better. I definitely recommend the game over any soccer game…or rather just any game.
This is the best soccer game I’ve ever played. It is very realistic and offers a lot of possibilities. The previous soccer game I played was Fifa 09 in the Wii, then switched to Fifa 10 in ps3. I must say it was a gigantic change, but it was for good in the end. When I started playing it I felt like I was trapped and was never going to master the game, it was just too hard for me. But if you really try and take time to master the game you will feel how it’s just awesome in almost every aspect. It offers hours and hours of fun, even more when playing with friends. I’ve passed a lot of time playing it and hasn’t gotten old.Graphically it is very well polished. I must say that it can look better when you have a closer look of the players, ball, field, etc, than when you have a wide view. Some things might be too colorful in my opinion, but they still look good.I think the best thing the game has is the playability. Being able to make tricks, various shots & passes gives the game a lot of depth. Something I like is that there is nothing scripted, like certain movement you do will always work. You can always be stopped or miss, it’s not like the old soccer games where you could have certain formulas for scoring or getting the ball. The things I don’t like is that sometimes the responsiveness when making a second player run is not too fast. Also the 1 on 1 online multiplayer is very difficult to connect with other player, even when trying to play with friends. That’s not the case of.
Nice Game
have been playing this since release in the US.have to say, if you love the sport, you would no doubt love this game.some of the best aspects i have loved so far are->1. virtual pro with game face with attributes that grow according to accomplishment.2. pro ranked matches – though i have not yet been able to actually join a club the ranked matches are so much fun.3. head to head online mode with a good ranking mechanism.4. pass and move and asking for runs from players around you. this is truly exceptional at times.5. chipped through balls and throughballs gives the game the dynamic nature it is supposed to have.aspects that have pissed me off->1. game crashes in online pro ranked matches.2. the second wind or come from behind, makes the ai change such that how ever good you defend you would end up letting in goals during dying moments if the opponent is decently good, works for your advantage other way round too. though this can be painfully true in real life too. its more to depict nerves in a real scenario.3. not enough time on ball to use skill moves. skill moves was supposed to be one of the most important addition to this fifa compared to 09. but still as before the opponent can pressure so fast and so hard that doing skill moves is still tough and when against good opponents very difficult to execute.4. manager mode has lost its charm and is more like an extra feature than what used to be a staple in the fifa gaming. assistant manager kinda pisses you off as he changes.
This game is simple if you want it to be, with straight forward controls, but can be very complex and deep if you choose to use those more complex features. For an old school gamer like me, it is a great balance.
Commentator AI is nauseatingly bad (who cares, doesnt affect gameplay; mute it); manager mode has peculiar ways of evaluating manager’s progress.Online play is fantastic. Quick and easily laid out. Only complaint is that so few users actually use headsets on this version.CPU AI seems to learn user’s style of play, forcing different tactics or else possession is stolen, goalkeeper makes more frequent saves, etc. Much more difficult skill levels.
