This game is just pure fun. It reminds me of what was addicting of ATARI 2600 games. You feel like you are the star of a cheesy B-grade monster movie, and the game doesn’t take itself too seriously. You get a wide variety of weapons, and you’ll quickly weed out the useless ones and focus on the powerful ones. The graphics are simple, but they almost have to be that way. There are so many enemies on a level, and I honestly would estimate at least 40 at times. They’ll actually climb on buildings and try to throw acid on you. They’ll even try to swarm you from behind. The physics is cheesy, but in a good way. If you hit the ants correctly, you’ll send them flying into the air. It’s really a trip when your coop partner blow away an ant and you see it fly in front you, and you two are several blocks apart! But yeah, the first enemies you meet are giant ants! Also, if the game has one thing, it’s big boom. The beginning guns don’t have it, but you’ll eventually find a few. Also, the level of destructibility is fantastic. You sometimes can’t keep yourself from taking down a city block’s worth of buildings because of the number of enemies you have to deal with at one time.
This is one of the better 360 games I have played. I have not owned my 360 long but this was recommended by a freind of mine. He did not dissappoint. There are 5 levels or difficulty as follows:EasyNormalHardHardestInfernoI will state that right now, Inferno is insane. The game itself is fantastic as the graphics are right and controls are responsive. This is a great game to play with friends as well. I have enjoys a few evenings playing this with freinds at the house. The only drawbacks are the following:No online playWill lag a little with lots of action going onOther than these 2 drawbacks, this is a title that I would suggest picking up.
Recently purchased this game, and for a $20 B-rated game it is quite fun actually! Best played co-op for maximum damage on the enormous bugs and robots. Pretty addicting game, worth the buy.
the plot of edf sounds like a 50’s sci fi horror. aliens come to earth and attack us by dropping giants ants, spiders, huge mechs and dynobots on us. i know it sounds hoaky but thats part of the charm. it’s one of those games thats so corny it’s awsome.it’s an over the shoulder shooter where you play edf unit #nobody cares. your a guy in a red and gray jumpsuit surounded by an army of guys wearing red and gray jumpsuits. any uniqueness of your character comes from your playstyle.you choose two weapons and usually it means two weapon types. assault rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers, sniper rifles, grenades, and other. and i do mean other. choose which weapon suits you the best and charge into battle against hordes of aliens and KILL THEM ALL!!!! thats all there is to it really.it sounds odd but it’s quirky fun and the co-op makes it a great game for pals when your hanging out. if it was co-op over live it would be perfect
While the single player in this game is amazing in its own right, the 2-player co-op is where the game shines. But be warned, if you attempt inferno difficulty you might throw some controllers (the reward is COMPLETELY worth it though). Find a good friend because it will take a long long time. There are also a ton of weapons to find, well over 100 if I remember. Some of them are pretty standard, and a few are pretty out there. You owe it to yourself to buy this game, seriously.I own Rock Band, Orange Box and Bioshock, yet this is still the most fun 360 game I have played to date…and don’t get me wrong, those games are also excellent.
Very fun, very challenging, graphics are actually pretty good. High octane action game. FUN
The 5 FPS with all the explosions and when spiders come around are part of the charm
Bought this based upon reviews on retrolio and thought what the hell $20. Yes, it seems to be brainless shoot-em up in the mode of Serious Sam somewhat which I’m a fan of but damn is this thing addictive. It starts out sort of Starship Troopers corny and seems damn is this easy but damn does it build level by level. The intensity of the Hardest/Inferno levels are amazing and the vibrations on the controller so extreme the controller is about to pop out of my hands. As others have noted this doesn’t pretend to be an RPG beauty combat game but you best use some strategy as the game progresses the intensity levels are extreme. In some levels the difference between Hardest and Inferno are quite dramatic. Also, the destructibility of the surroundings is amazing while you battle and the scope and vastness of enemies are. Oh well, if you need safe escapism for a cheap $20 this is the ticket IMO.I finished Halo3 on Legendary several times but this is a totally different creature again in the mode of the Serious Sam series IMO. Fun as hell in it’s own way. I’ve bought so many games that sucked it’s wonderful when you come across sleepers you’ve never heard of before. As a follow-up — Completed at 100% levels three times and 100% weapons (171) and no second controller cheating.TIPS —Do your harvesting of stamina on Level 52 “Inferno” at “normal” which is easy but the quickest way to farm stamina – follow-up TIP if you don’t do second controller cheating.Farm this level without des.
I was looking for a game that I could play with my little brother that didn’t require system link or going onto xbox live and I ran into this. At first glance the game seems kind of cheesy and the graphics aren’t too hot, but as it progresses it becomes quite an addicting game. There is a lot of replay value to this game whether you’re playing alone or with somebody else. When you play each level at a higher difficult setting you collect better weapons and it’s really challenging especially on the hardest difficult setting, inferno. The only really “big” thing I disliked about this game was the contol functions for the helicopter and the “mech-warrior” type machine. If you’re looking for a fun game to play with somebody or by yourself then you’ll find that this game will bring many hours of entertainment.
Epic and awesome game!!!
