It is a great workout and I like the whole series. I have Active and Active-More Workouts. Each one improves as you go in the series. For instance, ability to use hand weights in this version, warm up is varied as is the cool down, and better variety of core exercises. As others have mentioned it does have a few drawbacks. The interruption when exercising because the wii mote has gone into power save mode or the wii fit board, causes you to break your position to hit the button and then the program scolds you to “follow my movements.”The other thing I found out and wanted to share, if you don’t complete a workout during the challenge portion before midnight, you did not do the workout that day. I started one at 11:30 pm and finished about 12:12 am and it says I missed the workout. However, if you select a missed workout, I really did miss one, it they counts it and is happy again. I would love to see a “night owl” option like wii fit has where as long as I complete whatever up until 3 am, it is counted as the day before.I’m also wondering how it calculates that my portions are too large. They’re not but I’m annoyed that I keep getting the message that I got to cut back. I think it is based on the 3 meals a day and 4 hours in between but how does that equate to too much food I’m eating? I don’t include the snack of an orange or a container of yogurt as a meal. Nor do I tell it how much food was on the plate. Sorry, this part is more of a rant.Regardless, I do recomme.
Absolutely Love this Game. What a Workout. IĆ¢ā¬ā¢ve already Started losing weight and Gaining Muscle Tone. Very Pleased with this Game. Totally recommend to Everyone.
I was looking for a Wii exercise program that would help me build upper body strength and increase my overall fitness level. I picked EA Sports Active 2, and it has really exceeded my expectations. The 9-week program kept my interest through completion by varying the exercises and music on each workout and encouraging me. The sheer variety of exercises is impressive. The 9-week program helped me increase my aerobic capacity so that now I do the jogging program on my treadmill, whereas before I only did the fast walking program. I was pleasantly surprised by the many options for trainer-generated programs; I continue to use them for upper body and core strength exercises. I don’t usually write gushing reviews, but I must say that EA Sports Active 2 has really improved my life for the better!
EA Active 2 is a great piece of software – I hesitate to call it a “game,” because I haven’t yet thought of it as fun. Still, it’s well developed in most respects and the exercise programs are awesome. The cardio kickstart leads seamlessly into the 9-week challenge, and both gradually raise the bar for your athletic output until you’re able to workout for 30-40 minutes and burn hundreds of calories. The caloric burn of the exercises feels a lot more genuine than games like Wii Fit Plus, which never really got me into a serious sweat but still managed to say I’d racked up 300 calories in 30 minutes. There are two things that bug me. One is the trainer. I use the male, so maybe I should switch. Maybe the female is less irritating. For the most part the male trainer is fine, but occasionally he’ll chastise me to “step it up” when I’m already trying as hard as I can. That really bugs me, and I’ve found myself telling him to shut up out loud on more than one occasion. Similarly, if I’m doing a deep lunge but it’s late in the exercise routine and I’m exhausted sometimes my legs will quiver. The trainer will stand in the lunge position, waiting for me to hold still, while on screen messages urge me to do the exercise correctly. I find myself cheating in these instances, because you literally cannot continue until the game decides you’re doing the exercise right, and if exercise 28 out of 33 is the fifth round of split squats in 30 minutes that just isn’t happening. Alternately, somet.
Hey Everybody, retrolio’s price was great and the workouts are awesome; truly a challenge. But, it’s a shame I had a hard time for the leg sensor to register accurately. If this is or becomes a problem, let me tell you how to resolve this.If anyone have the leg strap for the other EA Active workouts, this can be used perfectly for the new leg sensor. I first tested my hypothesis by putting on the old leg strap for EA Active Workout, then sliding the leg sensor for EA Active Workout 2 in the old leg strap like a nunchuck, and WALAA! It registered quickly and accurately for all the exercises I tested. NO MORE! breaking my neck, back and whatever else to get the leg sensor to register, and just to hear at the end of my workouts, “YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT”; when I was working like a racehorse to get the leg sensor to register.I’m happy to say that this experiment made some favorable conclusions. The leg sensor for EA Active 2 works perfectly when you slide it in the old leg strap for EA Active workout. But, for the leg sensor to fit like the nunchuck, you must cut the strap off of the leg sensor from the seam, so that only the leg sensor is in the old leg strap with nothing hanging from it.I am a real happy camper now.May you all reach your goals.P.S. All those who do not have a leg strap from the other EA Active Workouts, you can still purchase one from a store who carry video games like retrolio.
EA Sports Active 2? I love it! I have been doing it for a little over 2 weeks now and LOVE it. Yes, it kicks my butt and I sweat like crazy, but that’s why I bought it. I loved the Wii Fit Plus when I bought it and still do, but it definitely was not challenging. I love the yoga in Wii Fit Plus, especially and still use it in conjunction with this “game”.It’s totally customizable. You can do the 3 week challenge, the 9 week challenge, design your own workout based on what exercises you want to do and/or what area you want to target or have a trainer design a workout for your based on how hard you want to work, what you want to work and and how long you want to work out. I’m doing the 9 week challenge and so is my husband. From what we can tell, you can’t do these challenge workouts with a partner, so we do them at separate times. You can do the workouts that are not part of the challenges with a partner though, but you’ll have to buy another set of accessories (which I haven’t been able to find, so I think we’ll have to buy a second EA Sports 2 system if we decided to do that).Cons:*Sometimes it doesn’t register movements. That kind of drives me crazy (and makes me tired from doing 2x reps).*If something comes up and you have to miss a workout, there’s no way to change your workout schedule in the same week. Sure, next week, but not this week. Not a problem for most people probably, but I hate that I missed workout!*I can’t do the challenge workouts with my husband.*Will hav.
I am 27yr old mother of 2 who doesnt have time to go to the gym. That is the reason why I purchased EA active2 for the wii. I didnt read the reviews until after I had already made the purchase. I was a little nerves about it and thought I would be disappointed.I received the package it contained a leg strap an arm strap and 4 AAA batteries. It also came with one of those strech bands that you stand on and pull upward I dont know what its called but it makes your arms sore the next day! LOLWhen I hooked everything up it gave me the option to design my character to match myself even let me change up the clothes to match exactly what I was wearing. It was pretty neat!THE WORK OUT – OMG my whole body was sore the next day my abs my legs everything and it was actually fun. Better than me just trying to do all of that on my own. I have been wanting to tone up and get in shape for a while I was just never motivated but this game makes it fun for me. I actually look forward to working out now which I havnt in a long time!!ABOUT THAT REMOTE PROBLEM I READ ABOUT. It was not a big deal. Not a problem at all. After a few minutes of not using it I was prompted to push A but like I said not a problem at all!Over all I was very happy!!!
We originally got Wii Fit Plus for my wife and I to start a home fitness routine. The idea of a virtual trainer is appealing, since neither of us really know what we’re doing. However, with Wii Fit Plus, you are required to choose different workouts or games manually, and has you competing against family members, which I personally don’t care about. It is also rather condescending, and the cartoonish aspect of it gets annoying in a hurry. After reading about EA Sports Active 2, I was very intrigued, and decided to give it a shot. I am so glad I did! It’s perfect for a novice like me. Guides me right through everything I need to do to get a solid workout in under an hour. It also measures your pulse and calculates how many calories you are burning. After the first one, I was really feeling it.This initially has you signing up for a 9-week course with a more realistic virtual trainer. It isn’t at all cartoonish, with beautiful backdrops and graphics. The audio is upbeat and fun as well. You set your desired schedule for workouts, and the trainer has different routines to go through with you each day… guiding you through the whole process, and choosing the best workouts for you based on your goals. I can also safely say that I can feel the workout MUCH more than I did doing the same amount of time with the Wii Fit. It schedules warmup excersizes, some cardio, strength training, etc, and ends your routine with cooldown stretches. The accessories are great, however I can.
I read reviews of this product and decided to give it a try to supplement my weekly exercise class. This product is great!! I love my Wii Fit but realized I was spending more time going between exercises than I was actually spending time exercising. Unlike Wii Fit, this is a continuous exercise routine that varies in the types of exercises with each routine (upper/lower body, cardio, etc.). I have just completed the 2 week program and am advancing in the scheduled routine. As I started LATE in life trying to get in shape, needless to say anything I do is a challenge yet this routine pushes me to go a little further each time. You should have heard my laugh when my trainer told me to run (still chuckling). With this product, I look forward to working out which is a major accomplishment for me. And yes you do need to order another exercise band. The one that comes with the product is so lightweight and you have to tie it to the handstraps. One strap slipped off in the middle of stretch and that’s something I won’t forget anytime soon! I look forward to advancing my level of fitness with this program.
I must admit that initially I didn’t think this game would push me in a way that I needed it to… I was wrong! I love the circuit training and the total body work out that I get from EA Sports Active 2. I love the different options it has as well as letting you select short (3 weeks) work out programs or longer once you are comfortable. The exercises are exactly what I’ve paid for at the gym to take classes, only the sensors don’t let me cheat like my gym aerobics instructor does! I am definitely hooked, I feel better after working out with EA Sports Active 2, my muscles are sore and I feel like I’ve actually worked out unlike some other work out “games” I’ve tried. This allows me to have fun while working out, and not have to leave the house. So for those short on time or feel like you don’t have the time to work out, if you can sit down and watch a television show for 20 or 30 minutes, then you can find the time to pop this game in and get in a great work out because EA Sports Active 2 allows you to set up how long you want to work out. It’s that easy! It’s the perfect game for you no matter where you are in your journey to improve your health and be more active. It allows you to choose length of time, the ease of activity (easy, normal, and intense) and set up your own “routine” or have your Wii Trainer do it for you! I’m glad I made this purchase.
