First of all, the game in and of itself is very nearly perfect and extremely fun and satisfying. However, it has a feel as if it were created by a team that’s new to games in general as there are several things missing that I think gamers have come to take for granted. I’ll get to the good parts later, but for now I want to focus on the negative aspects since most of them don’t really have much to do with the gameplay itself. They’re just minor annoyances, which if there were fewer of them wouldn’t be such a problem, but because there’s so blasted many it seriously detracts from the game itself. One of the very first things you’ll notice is that this is a game of menus. The only time that there’s not a complicated highly-layered menu is during dialog, when you usually only have two or three options, with an occasional message delivery quest that throws in an additional response. Aside from that, just about everything in the game requires so many submenus that it’s a pain in the butt to just return to the actual gameplay. This is especially annoying when talking to NPCs to buy, sell, upgrade, or store equipment because you have to navigate some horribly deep tree to get to the menu you want, then navigate back out to get to your character, then navigate to their inventory, then navigate to the right category of item, then navigate back out. When buying equipment and changing vocations, you get treated to a short cut where the NPC allows you to move straight to your equipment to.
This game has alot of things in it that remind me of final fantasy, like the cockatrice for example. How many games have a cockatrice besides FF? There is many more things derived from FF if you pay attention. It’s just refreshing to play a game like this if you’ve been playing any elder scrolls titles. It might not be as big or as pretty, but I would have to say it’s almost as pretty, and this world is not small by any means. Not much personality in NPC’s or quests, but the game is genuinely more intriguing, and more fun than Oblivion, or Skyrim. And if you like suprises than you will be very impressed with the storylines turn of events. NO SPOILERS, but let’s just say, the game changes drastically when the sun sets for good. You’ll love this game. Just buy it.
Dragon’s Dogma aims to be a great action RPG by mixing elements from both Western and Eastern RPGs and they hit the target pretty close to center! The combat is highly satisfying and strategic, while remaining intuitive. The world is big and waiting to be explored, and has the added bonus of being inhabited by interesting characters. Dragon’s Dogma is humungous, offering hours of entertainment thanks to dozens of side quests and post game content. The game’s pawn system also offers a unique multiplayer experience by allowing players to share their companions with each other to aid them on their quest. With pleasant visuals, a great soundtrack, and awesome gameplay, Dragon’s Dogma is definitely worth playing if you love role playing games.ou can read my full review of Dragon’s Dogma at my blog Last Minute Reviews, which is hosted at wordpress.com
I love this game , because the pawn system is addicting. Creating and renting out your pawn too the gaming community may sound like a gimmick but its a good one. I care more about my pawn stats and gear then I do my main character.Anyway the game is about your hero who is the chosen one to kill a dragon. Yes that’s cheesy but its a open world game and gives you a reason to be out there fighting and questing. I was a little disappointed in the world and its size. The world in Dragon Dogma is not that big its medium size easy too get a round. The world also has only 2 towns in the whole thing. They said this game is open world and yes why it is open (some what) it still linear. The game is set around roads with little grass areas surrounding them. The fighting in this game is okay but I seen better. Its more of action fighting and button mashing , but there is no combos it this game. There is some strategy you may have to kill a certain monster with fire and a different one with ice. Some times you have too break some monsters amour off be for you kill it and etc.The broken part about the game is the bugs , and some of these bugs are game breaking. Also the quest menu is horrible. you cant really tell the difference if your doing a story quest or a side quest, so you might move along in the story quest and can never go back too do side quest you miss.Overall The game was a good buy at full price, I liked it way more then I enjoyed reckoning , I just wish it had more polish.
This game was not for me, it was for a gift, but the person who did recieve it, loves it, its a great role playing game, for hundreds of hours
i would play this game with the ipod playing your favorite music, makes the gameplay bettergraphics are good, tons of missions and things to do
Truly cool game, but as you go along it is completly reptetive
Great game! I regret not getting it sooner.
The reason I give this game five stars is because how imaginative it really is, I mean there are not a lot of games that you can personally create your own character in should they be Male or Female. In this game I have created heroes that look like me, Bilbo Baggins from the Hobbit, Gandalf from Lord of the Rings, and I have a list of so much more characters that I want to create. This is what is so fun about it, is using your imagination to create the main protagonist or hero or heroine and having them improve throughout the game. Also you have three companions or Pawns in the game, one of them you personally create the other two you recruit, right now I have Bilbo Baggins as a fighter as the main character and Gandalf a mage as my main companion. Also you fight many magical and mythical creatures and monsters in the game such as Goblins, giant wolves, Giant lizard monsters, cyclops, bats, walking skeletons, zombies, spiders, and of course a dragon. :)I also like how you get to endlessly wander throughout the game with no time limit and you can pretty much do whatever you want, should it be side quest, main quest, or just wandering collecting certain items and helping people. If you create a character that looks like yourself it makes you feel like you are actually in the game, being the main character. :) One other thing I like about the game is how you choose which type of class you are for example, a Fighter, a Strider, or a Mage. Fighter and Strider are easier to impro.
Dragon’s Dogma is a great game that offers alot of choices for your character. The combat is actiony and fast paced, and it feels good to just wreck your enemies as a team! The only flaw that I can note is that there are spots during the game that force you change your respective class to continue onward. I personally do not like this about the game because it can force you to change your strategy and playstyle. But reguardless, Dragons Dogma has alot of replay value, and the story is fantastic. If you are an RPG fan you will have to pick up this game.
