Dantes Inferno is one of my favorite games. The story is great, I love the art style, gameplay is fun. I especially like the environments and combat style. I can’t think of any reason to not buy this game. There is also replay value if you choose to max out both the holy and unholy paths. Great purchase!
I don’t play this type of games often, and rent it just to see it and kill some time. It turns out I was soon captured by the theme and story, the graphics, and the very nice battle and upgrading system. It’s nice that you can choose to upgrade your powers at the pace and way you prefer, giving some personal attachment to the character. The graphics and the boss battles are supreme. Besides, there is something about hell and myth that attracts everybody… I was captured from the moment I had to defeat The Death, an was just the beginning!. I highly recommend it, you’ll have a lot of fun. One note: It’s clearly for adults, it is very violent, with sexual themes, and very graphical.
This game is, despite what others may tell you, is extremely well done. There are many similarities to the GOW( God of War) games but, having played those too i have to say that i would much journey into the inferno than scale mount Olympus. If you have played any of the GOW games you will not have any trouble playing this one, there are the same moments during boss battles where you will have to execute a quicktime event to defeat the enemy, engage in air battles, use weapons and magic to destroy everything in your path. a major difference is the cross, in GOW you have only one main weapon which does everything, in Inferno you get to wield both the Scythe and the Holy Cross with is extremely useful for ranged enemies and save you a hell of allot of work not having to jump into the air and slash at them. Another important point it the Punish/Absolve feature which lets you choose how to deal with enemies. Punishing or absolving grants experience to either the cross or the scythe, and you can choose to spend it on a wide range of abilities . Their are also items to collect, the Damned to find, and souls to collect. The world of the Inferno is beautiful, rich, and dazzling. You will defiantly want to consider a replay, and with the great story line, almost flawless graphics, and dastardly enemies it’s hard to resist. A.
This game is so under rated. I think because it caught a lot of slack from the PS community for being too much like God of War. But ultimately Dante’s Inferno(the divine comedy) and the 9 Gates of Hell are a pretty solid storyline and the game-play was fantastic. I bought this on retrolio after realizing i was missing my original copy.
This game had to be buffed, no big deal, it was used, but case, and game manual were in very good condition. I’m a bit more particular than some people as I am a good steward of my beloved video game products. Anyway there is a local humble game store nearby that only charges $3 for a disc cleaning. Now for the fun part, I don’t know why there is so much negative reviews and "dissatisfied" so called pro reviews that found so much fault with this game. It IS very similar to GOD OF WAR, BUT THAT IS A GOOD THING!… in presentation, art direction, and definitely game play. However, I absolutely was blown away by the GOD OF WAR series, especially the epic soundtrack! Dante’s Inferno took plenty of ideas from Sony’s Amazing Achievement: GOW, although the music can not be compared on the same level. Honestly GOW soundtrack is so incredible; it’s up there with Silent Hill 4, albeit different types of game / environment. So Dante’s Inferno is not as engaging with the music, but it is still an amazing game ! Instead of Greek Mythology, you get The 14th-century epic poem, as a storyline for this game. Dante’s Inferno tells the journey of Dante through Hell, guided by the ancient Roman poet Virgil. In the poem, Hell is depicted as nine concentric circles of torment located within the Earth.. Obviously, this idea creates an onslaught of extremely violent and mature content and possibly disturbing imagery to some audiences. Having said that, if this type of subject matter is not.
9 out of 10I love this game. It’s a great title and I would recommend it to anyone who like to play RPG style games. The graphics and game play are excellent, 10 out of 10. Also, the story line goes really in depth and has a lot of character. You can really feel Dante’s pain as he fights his way through hell and confront’s his many sins. I only had two bad things to say about this game. Sometimes it was difficult to figure out what exactly you had to do in order to move on from that section of the game. Also, this is a really short game. I beat it in under 6 hours. However, there are other options such as fighting waves of enemies and playing through the game again with all of your upgrades. I had a lot of fun playing it and will definitely still play it!
I am glad to hear that so many folks compare this game to a PS3 title. Given that I have an XBOX, why wouldn’t I be thrilled to have a game like this become available. For those of us who don’t own every console on the market, you owe it to yourself to give this one a try. This game is a gauntlet of gore. It could probably be compared to any number of games in the genre (even CONAN for the 360). What you do have to admire is the singular story, striking detail (depictions of Sisyphus and other characters) and robust atmosphere (tortured souls, screams, soundtrack).
I usually set aside video games like Dante’s Inferno as ‘weekend video games.’ In other words, I know I’m probably going to finish the game over the course of a weekend and then never play it again because I have other games to play and because I usually hand games off to my friends after I beat them. With the above in mind, Dante’s Inferno is an excellent weekend game in that it is a fun, entertaining game that shouldn’t take you more than ten hours to complete on normal difficulty. This game is, of course, a lot like the God of War games. This is mostly a good thing, aside from the fact that (like God of War) the B button on your controller will probably explode after a few hours of play due to all the quick-time events and doors/chests that require you to repeatedly tap B for no good reason. The B button tapping is truly excessive in this game and it is really my one outstanding complaint.Anyway, I think this game is worth playing because it succeeds very well in two key areas… production value and flow of combat. The production value (art design, voice acting, cut-scenes, etc.) in this game is top-notch. Also, the flow of combat is great in that character movement is fluid, killing enemies feels satisfying, and there are a lot of combat options that can be unlocked via experience orbs (even if you don’t really need most of them). Also, the enemies have clear signatures that tell you they are about to attack, which is always a huge plus in my mind because it helps me contr.
NO MORE TO SAY ONIT THI TITLE IS 1 OF THE BEST IVE PLAYED EVER , GIVEN IM INTO THE DARK STUFF . LOVE DANTEANIAN THEMES AND SUCH. IF U LKE A GOTH RPG THIS IS KILLER AN SICK N FUN TO PLAY ALL A SEIAL KILLER IN THE MAKING NEEDS :) LOL
I got this game as I heard it was very similar to the God of War series and I had a great time playing those games. I threw this in and little did I know, it wasn’t just similar to GoW, it was a clone of it! The creators of GoW should get some royalties from this game. With that being said, the game was entertaining. It has a little touch of infamous where you pick to be good or bad (or in the game holy or unholy) and you get different perks from picking up relics. The achievements are reasonable, but requires two play throughs to get them all (once for holy and once for unholy). None of the achievements are based on the difficulty level of the gmae. There is some downloadable content that adds some game play and some achievements, but it is NOT free so I passed on it.All in all, if you like God of War, then you will enjoy this game. If not…stay away!
